 Business majors will no longer have to complete concentrations in a chosen business area. The change, if approved at the January Board of Trustees meeting, will take effect in Fall 2010.

 The registration procedure has been reopened after the end of pre-registration week. An additional Introductory Accounting II section was introduced, as well as two new Business Law sections. The elective BUS 497 Auditing is no longer offered. Other changes in the course offerings concern the economics, political science, and European studies.

 A small cast of six students amazed the audience with an entertaining and powerful performance of the British play "The Shagaround." The setting of the independent student production was the bathroom of a pub, where a girl locks her boyfriend for owing her 50 quid. Oh, and for cheating on her.

 Chair of JMC Department Dinka Spirovska will not be teaching at AUBG in Fall 2009. Sandra Early or Phelps Hawkins will fill the position of interim chair. In Spring 2009, the university will hire a sabbatical replacement for the visual communications courses which Spirovska is teaching now.

 World AIDS Day, Dec. 1, came with a major awareness campaign which lasted during the whole day. A big red ribbon, held by more than 100 people, was formed in the center of Blagoevgrad, while the AUBG campus offered free condoms and interactive information about HIV, AIDS, and sexual education.

 Lyubomir Galchev, junior manager at Galchev Group, which includes about 20 separate companies, spoke in front of AUBG students about the activities of the holding, its strategy, and its future projects. One of the Galchev companies worked on the construction of the Skaptopara Residence Halls.
