 This year, students who have already worked in the United States on Work and Travel programs will be eligible for a visa interview waiver. A system called "drop box" allows students to send their applications and receive their visas without having to go to the embassy in Sofia in person.

 The Debate Club presented students with "The Obama challenge," a roundtable discussion about issues related to the newly inaugurated U.S. president and the world economy. Five faculty members (Nadeem Naqvi, Gerald Pech, Maria Tzankova, Molly Burke Kirova, and Robert White) participated in the discussion, alongside active student participation.

 Four employees of bTV, one of Bulgaria's four national TV channels, visited AUBG to present the company and offer job and internship opportunities. Representatives of the News, PR, HR, and IT departments of the channel attracted students by characterizing bTV as the leading channel in Bulgaria.
