Before this semester's pre-registration, the administration introduced a new management tool, which caused student discontent. A student petition resulted in discussions between the organizers of the petition, SG, and members of the administration and ultimately in some changes in the new rule to better reflect students' interests.

Take a look at some photos from the annual AUBG Olympics, held on April 26 on the Bachinovo baseball field. The weather conditions were good, allowing the event to occur on the planned date. This year, Bulgarian athlete Ivet Lalova was invited as a guest of the event.

This year's JMC Rocks party was held on April 22, which was a Wednesday, instead of the traditional Tuesday. The department and students majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) gathered in Piano Bar to celebrate their activities in the same format as previous years. There was a radio show, TV show, and newspaper, all of them mock versions of the original journalism media. Here are some photos from the event.

The first democratically elected president of Bulgaria, Zhelyu Zhelev, gave a lecture on the situation in the country before and after communism, emphasizing on the transition period. Zhelev was invited to AUBG by the three student organizers of the event.

A play written in 1956 by British playwright John Osborne, which resulted in a new movement in literature called "Angry Young Man," was performed at the small stage in the old library as an independent projected directed by sophomore Igor Gurkin. "Look Back in Anger" was the last stage appearance for several experienced senior actors at AUBG.

Advertised by a small model of a house in the Main Building and hanging underwear in the Skaptopara 1 main lobby, the staging of "A Doll's House" at AUBG presented students with the 19th century view on gender roles. A stark look at what it meant to be a woman then and how a woman defies the norms was illustrated in a serious play with five actors.

A former Xerox executive and senior faculty member of Harvard Business School visited AUBG to speak about achieving success. Currently working as a CEO of Inner Circle Logistics, John Clendenin has been cooperating on various projects with AUBG students and faculty members since 2005.

The Better Community Club and PTPI organized an awareness raising campaign for the environment week which officially started on 3 April. The promotion of the campaign started a week earlier, on 28 March, with a workshop at which students could draw on a t-shirt the logo of the Environment Week.

In order to express their solidarity with the violent student protests in Moldova, on Tuesday the Moldovan community at AUBG organized a protest in front of the Main Building. Students expressed their discontent with the official results of the parliamentary elections on Sunday, which pointed the Communist Party as a winner.
