Two students in Skaptopara 1 Residence Hall and three in Skaptopara 2 will join the RA teams in the beginning of the Spring 2010 semester. A relatively equal number of people applied for the position. Fourteen people were interested in becoming an RA in Skaptopara 1 and sixteen in Skaptopara 2. "We were looking for people who stand out and have positive attitude and ideas," Hall Director Sveta Milcheva said and added that other important qualities they were looking for in the candidates were knowledge about the position and ability to work in a team. Students of all standings were interested in the positions, Milcheva said. "All applicants were eligible and serious, so the decision was really hard to make." Like her predecessor Arben Konedarev, Milcheva selected the best candidates, taking into consideration the evaluation forms the RAs had filled out, but making the final decision herself. In contrast, Ilko Drenkov, Hall Director of Skaptopara 2, did what he had done previous years. Usually he and all of the RAs gather and vote together on who the most suitable people for the job are, and his vote weighs as much as that of any other RA. First-year student Georgi Ivanov and senior Tetyana Naydukh will join the RA team of Skaptopara 1. Three students were selected in Skaptopara 2 because senior Narantuguldur Saijrakh is graduating this semester. These are sophomores Valeriya Yordanova and Ah Se Lee, and junior Lorena Caushaj. The applicants who did not specify where they prefer to live were interviewed in Skaptopara 1 like last year. "It was the whole team that attracted me to the position," Ivanov said. "All the people are cool and it would be worth working with them." "We are really excited about the new people," Miltcheva said and added that the RAs moving to Skaptopara 3 will be missed. Sophomore Apostol Apostolov and senior Boyan Barnev from Skaptopara 1, as well as senior Kalina Gorinova and junior Diana Zaharieva from Skaptopara 2 will be on duty in the new dormitory as of next semester. It was decided that it was better to send experienced RAs to help Hall Director of Skaptopara 3 Illiyan Stamatov get things going. |

I know Nick is a great RA, so probably that's why Skapto 2 needed 3 new people to replace him :)
