During Spring break, the AUBG e-mail server underwent an upgrade. It has been upgraded from Microsoft Exchange version 2003 to version 2007. More than a week after the update, the new e-mail system presents constant problems. Students as well as professors find it hard to use the AUBG mailing system properly.
"The biggest problem right now is that every time when you try to view a message in your inbox, a virus alert appears, and then you have to click on the message again in order to view it," Director of Communications and Computing Latchezar Filtchev said.
Discontent on campus is increasing as now it takes almost twice as much time to check one's mail and replying takes a lot of patience and additional skill. It is almost visible how the communication habits on campus are starting to change under the combined pressure of frustration and necessity.

Totally Disappointed however, as well. About the situation. It's pretty much ridiculous. If you don't know how to even scramble two eggs, don't go preparing a whole dinner with new recipes and all kinds of soufflés for 15 guests. You couldn't manage the eggs - please don't try managing ANYTHING even slightly more complicated than that. Forgive my metaphor... i'm just really unhappy when we pay money for all this and then that money goes as salaries for completely incompetent people, who, behind the veil of doing something supposedly better for us, are actually making life here all the more difficult.
I'm still surprised they haven't outsourced the entire system, ala http://www.google.com/a/help/intl/en/edu/sell.html.
